We are a charity dedicated to helping children and youths
from less privileged backgrounds break away from the poverty cycle
We started from the cinders at Bukit Ho Swee back in the 1970s, after a second fire had wiped out an entire kampong.
After all these years, one thing that has remained the same is our commitment to be in the service of people’s efforts – where they lead the change of what they want for their lives.
Long lasting change can only happen if everyone plays a part to make space for those living on the margins.
Through compassion, empathy, inclusion and understanding, we can allow more opportunities for those living in poverty, so they may feel supported, valued, and capable of living a better, purposeful future on their own terms.
Over the years, we have come to understand that for meaningful outcomes to happen,
multi-pronged support is necessary, through whole-of-society.
The following pillars are part of a community development approach that we adopt,
which guides our work and the programmes we organise.
