Be a Volunteer

Often, the most valuable gift is your presence.

There’s nothing quite like the joy you’ll get from
helping those in need and being part of their community.

Volunteers

Everyone has a gift, including you.

You can volunteer to run an activity for children, share a skill or hobby, host an event or simply listen to and help guide one of our youths. There are many other ways you can contribute, so have a chat with us and we can figure it out together.

Whether you’re after a little CSR or good deed plus points, come join us in serving over 10,000 households that we have reached out to.

We’d love to have you on board.

FAQs

If you can’t find the answer to your question in our FAQ below, just ask us at volunteer@beyond.org.sg.

Volunteer Orientations are held once a month on either a Tuesday evening (7:30pm – 9:30pm) or Saturday morning (10am – 12pm). We highly recommend volunteers to attend as it is a good opportunity for you to learn more about the organisation and to determine if Beyond is a good fit for you.

We also run Basic Befriender Trainings once a month on either a Tuesday evening (7pm – 9:30pm) or Saturday morning (10am – 12:30pm) for volunteers who are keen to be befrienders or wish to work more closely with children and youths in our community. Unlike Volunteer Orientation, our Basic Befriender Training is compulsory for prospective befrienders. The training will cover roles, ethics, values, and processes of being a befriender.

You may sign up for either/both trainings on our Events Calendar.

For most opportunities, training will be provided on the ground by our staff members specific to the needs and requirements of each volunteering activity.

Yes, we work with schools for their Values-in-Action (VIA) and Service Learning Projects (SLP). You may email your proposal to volunteer@beyond.org.sg or call 63752940 should you have any enquiries.
This is dependent on the commitment required of individual programmes. Programmes which have a higher impact on the lives of the families will require volunteers to commit for a minimum of six months to a year. We have other projects and events which are suitable for people who wish to volunteer on an ad hoc, one-time or project basis.
For Permanent Residence applications, we may issue volunteer acknowledgement letters with minimum 24 hours of service and at least 2 weeks’ notice. We are happy to support PR applications where volunteering is an expression of one’s passion and commitment for our cause and not a means to an end.
